In my previous article "Need A Reason To Write A Press Release For Your Home Daycare Business?", I listed 40 newsworthy ideas to get your wheels turning.
Now, here's a basic template to get you started with formatting your press release.
1. Press Release - "Centered" just under your logo or letterhead.
2. Release Instructions - "For Immediate Release", "For Release Before (date)" or "For Release After (date)". Upper left hand corner.
3. Contact Information - Upper right hand corner.
4. Compelling Headline - Capitalize the first letter of each word & use bold typeface to draw attention.
5. City, State, & Date - This is normally the same size text as the main body and is often done in italic.
6. Lead Paragraph - Good clear and concise summary of who?, what?, when?, where?, why? and how?
7. Body of the release - This is the heart of your press release. You can even include quotes & testimonials when appropriate.
8. "Boilerplate" - This is the close of your press release where you share a little general background information about your home daycare business. You can also repeat your contact information here.
9. # # # - Use 3 "centered" number symbols immediately following the last paragraph to indicate the end of your press release.
That's it, you're all done!
No Excuses! Lol
I've just added a special Video Bonus to the "I've Got A Newsworthy Reason To Write A Press Release For My Home Daycare Business... Now What?" article.
Check it out.
P.S. Write in the third person as though YOU are the journalist. Think "she" & "her", rather than "I" & "my".
